Guided through the chaos by an unlikely leader named Evan Whitesky, they endeavor to restore order while grappling with a grave decision.

Li o livro em 2 dias porque a história me deixou angustiada!

Tudo começa nessa reserva indígena do Canadá onde o contato com o mundo exterior começa a aos poucos parar de funcionar. Telefones, internet, eletricidade, tudo vai falhando até que a reserva fica isolada e sem saber o que está acontecendo.

O livro é relativamente lento, mas o estilo de escrita do autor é tão envolvente que o suspense permeia até em cenas mais calmas. Acredito que isso se deu porque os personagens e o senso de comunidade entre eles foi tão bem desenvolvido que eu me preocupava de verdade com o bem-estar deles então sempre que algo a mais piorava na vida deles eu ficava mais e mais nervosa 😅

Eu amei a representatividade da cultura indígena ao longo da história e também de como isso foi refletido na própria estrutura da narrativa. Inclusive acredito que isso influenciou o final do livro, que é mais aberto e não entrega todas as respostas ao leitor.
