Lili and Goli have argued endlessly about where their mother, Bibijan, should live since the Iranian Revolution. It also highlights how "we" can become "them" at any moment, for our true exile is alienation from others. Obra complexa, mas profunda e linda

“Nós e eles” foi o meu segundo contato com o trabalho de Bahiyyih Nakhjavani. Achei a obra totalmente diferente de “O alforje” (meu primeiro contato), mas sem perder a linda escrita da autora.

A obra inteira é contada na primeira pessoa do plural, pois o objetivo da autora é englobar todas as facetas persas ao redor do mundo (por conta da diáspora iraniana). Essa narrativa do “nós/eles” é intercalada entre os capítulos da história sobre uma idosa (Bibi) que deixa o Irã e viaja entre as casas de suas duas filhas em Paris (Lili) e Los Angeles (Goli).

Os personagens se encontram de diversas maneiras mostrando o quanto a comunidade é interligada. Todos são de gerações diferentes e possuem uma perspectiva conjunta - essa questão geracional é bem explorada em Lili e Goli com relação à mãe delas.

Não achei que foi uma leitura simples, pois ela exige bastante atenção por parte do leitor. Mas acho que foi uma ótima leitura e indico para todos que querem ter contato com uma cultura/vivência diferente.
