Adoro livros ambientados durante a guerra

Essa obra é extremamente emocionante, mas confesso que não consegui me conectar completamente com a dor dos personagens. Ela revela como a guerra afetou essas pessoas de forma irreparável.

Amanda é uma mãe de uma força incrível, que se recusa a ceder. Mesmo sem ter poder ou força para enfrentar soldados e aqueles que a julgavam inferior, ela fez de tudo para salvar suas filhas. Se afastar delas foi uma escolha dolorosa, mas necessária para garantir sua sobrevivência. Contudo, não consigo entender por que Amanda decidiu mandar apenas Vieira embora no navio, ficando com Lina. Por que não enviar Lina também, salvando-a da guerra? Por que obrigar sua filha mais nova a viver todo o caos da guerra? Por isso, não acredito que Amanda tenha realmente feito de tudo para salvar suas filhas.

A narrativa flui bem ao longo do livro. Os capítulos curtos e a linguagem simples tornam a leitura fácil e, de certo modo, rápida. Porém, por causa de algumas pontas soltas, decidi tirar 1 estrela.
