Karou é uma artista que preenche seus cadernos com desenhos de monstros que apenas ela sabe serem reais. Akiva é um seraphim enviado em uma missão para acabar com os portais existentes no mundo humano. Ao se encontrarem, ambos descobrirão a verdade sobre um passado dos mesmos a muito tempo escondido.

Após muito tempo parado em minha estante, resolvi dar início a leitura da trilogia feita por Laini Taylor recentemente. Considero isso como algo infeliz, julgando que a todo momento enquanto prosseguia com o enredo, imaginava que com certeza esta história haveria de me agradar muito mais caso houvesse lido tempos atrás.
A abertura desta obra foi notavelmente maçante, enquanto o desenrolar da história pecou severamente no quesito desenvolvimento assim como os laços criados pelos personagens. Contudo, a leitura passou a tomar rédeas melhores e considerei o conceito envolvendo serafins e quimeras cativante e repleto de potencial, assim como os indivíduos da história.
