Margarita Karapanou’s third novel is, like roulette, a breathtaking, suspenseful game. The story is simple: a love affair ends badly. A woman and a man marry, and their marriage leads them to cruelty, infidelity, and divorce. But here their story is told twice, from opposing perspectives. Margarita Karapanou nasceu em Atenas, Grécia, filha da romancista e dramaturga Margarita Liberaki e do advogado e poeta Giorgos Karapanos. Seus pais se divorciaram e sua mãe se mudou para Paris logo depois que ela nasceu. Assim, Margarita cresceu parte em Atenas, com sua avó materna e parte com sua mãe em Paris. Ela estudou filosofia e cinema em Paris e lecionou em creches a distância em Londres. Karapanou trabalhou como professora de creche e também em um jardim de infância particular. Ela lutou contra o transtorno bipolar ao longo de sua vida.
