Francesca teve o mesmo fim que os pais - perdeu seu marido ainda jovem, mas diferente da mãe, não tinha a fieira de filhos para lhe fazer companhia. É nesse cenário que Michael, primo do falecido, surge.

Suponho que a ideia original do livro era um jogo de sedução decadente entre o casal, mas Julia Quinn é uma romântica de carteirinha e logo a narrativa descamba para a cura emocional e o casamento.

É uma boa leitura, porém me deixou com a estranha sensação que esse livro foi feito para dar a Francesca a oportunidade que foi negada a Violet: a felicidade de um novo amor.
