Expectation

Esse livro conta a história de três amigas: Hannan, Cate e Lissa.
Cada uma tem uma vida diferente com seus problemas e dificuldades.
Cate casou-se com Sam, após alguns meses de relacionamento, por ter engravidado e enfrenta uma depressão pós-parto.
Hannan é casada com Nathan e faz tratamento para engravidar.
Lissa é atriz e tem dificuldades com sua profissão.
A narrativa começa em 2010, quando todas estão na casa dos 30 anos enfrentando problemas emocionais. O enredo não é contado de forma linear, havendo alguns capítulos em que o passado é retomado.
O livro é sobre amizade, mas também mostra as angústias pelas quais a mulher passa durante sua vida.
É bem interessante perceber que as personagens têm momentos penosos e complexos dentro de suas realidades específicas.
A amizade delas não é mostrada como uma relação bonita. Na verdade, o relacionamento entre as personagens é bem tóxico, baseado em inveja, competição, ressentimento, falta de empatia...
O desenrolar do livro traz muitos sentimentos conflituosos, pois as atitudes das personagens são bem egocêntricas e insensíveis.
É uma história triste de amizade que traz reflexões sobre como as relações estão sendo construída atualmente.
