THE LUXE se passa na NY de 1899, na época em que os casamentos ainda eram arranjados, tinham crises financeiras drásticas, e muito, muito luxo mesmo !
A Elite de Nova York, nesse livro, é composta por 3 familias - Hollands, Schoonmakers e os Hayes - onde Elizabeth Holland, Henry Schoonmaker e Penelope Hayes vivem uma séééérie de emoções, puro TRIO AMOROSO. Elizabeth, a mais linda e a mais invejada por todos, tem tudo em sua vida mas é infeliz por causa do AMOR impossível que ela sente por Will, e por estar noiva de Henry. Diana, sua irmã, é o oposto de Liz, mas com o amor também impossível por Henry. Penelope, melhor amiga de Liz - assim é descrita no livro haha - é apaixonada por Henry e também é super invejosa e faz de tudo para conseguir o que quer. Henry é o bachelor mais cobiçado de NY, por ser perfeito - rico e bonito - apaixonado por Diana mas noivo de sua irmã, Liz.
É uma montanha russa de emoções. Lembra muito Gossip Girl, mas com aquele grande toque de *antique* :) eu amei o livro, e com certeza vou amar a série inteira ! é literalmente cheio de amores impossíveis, loucuras que as pessoas fazem, algumas falsidades, realidades.. tudo num só ! vale muito a pena :D
