Do all lives have the same value? In Varansi, India, the answer appears to be no. Police do not pay attention to a series of murders in the slums. After all, who cares about the death of an untouchable? Interpol Agent Thomas Connors is involved in a strange case when the body of a childhood friend is found near his office in Lyon where he had gone to tell him something. With the help of coroner Laura Terraux, he follows his friend's trail all the way to Varansi. There he crosses paths with a young girl named Tanika who is fleeing after her parents' mysterious deaths, linked somehow to some sinister practices of the pharmaceutical industry.
