Muito bom!
**Thank you to NetGalley and Avon and Harper Voyager for the e-ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.** Quero começar dizendo que gostei muito mais desse livro que do primeiro. Talvez por conta da personalidade dos personagens principais, que deixaram o livro mais leve, e o trope aqui ser fake dating (que eu amo!). A estória começa com a Solange impedindo o casamento do Dean de acontecer, e depois disso também vai rolar uma situação no trabalho do Dean que vai fazer com que ele peça a ajuda da Solange, onde eles vão ter que fingir que estão namorando e vivendo juntos. Eu gostei muito da personalidade da Solange. Ela é muito divertida, sarcástica e tem a língua afiada. Do Dean eu estava esperando algo totalmente diferente. Achei que ele ia ser mais do tipo palhaço, por conta do que eu tinha visto dele no livro primeiro, mas acabou que ele era mais sério (o que não quer dizer que ele era rabugento). Ele era muito legal com a Solange, principalmente. Desconfio que o Dean é um capricorniano ou virginiano: ele não quer um relacionamento por amor, quer um por conveniência; gosta de tudo arrumadinho e limpo do jeito dele; e é o cara das checklists, mas não deixa de ser engraçado e divertido kkkk. A leitura foi muito leve e engraçada por conta desse jeitinho dos protagonistas. Acredito que uma das complicação para o relacionamento deles é que ambos têm medo de repetir os erros das mães quando se trata de amor, porém a forma como eles encontraram de não repetir esses erros são diferentes. Enquanto o Dean dá prioridade ao trabalho, para depois encontrar uma pessoa que tenha objetivos parecidos com os dele para compartilhar a vida; a Solange tem dificuldade de fazer escolhas, então ela está sempre experimentando as diversas possibilidades tanto em relação a carreira profissional dela, quanto a vida amorosa, pois ela tem receio de fazer escolhas que no final vão ferrar ela. Achei muito legal como isso foi abordado sutilmente ao longo da narrativa. A tensão sexual desses dois é uma coisa absurda e tem várias cenas incríveis (COF COF a cena do karaokê e a da festa de gala). Achei que os personagens principais do primeiro livro iriam aparecer mais, já que a Lina é prima da Solange e e o Max é melhor amigo do Dean, mas não foi o caso. Apesar disso, gostei muito mais da introdução da família brasileira da protagonista nesse livro, do que no primeiro. Pareceu muito mais natural, principalmente o jeito que a Solange interage com as primas (me identifiquei muito kkkk). Sendo brasileira, é muito gostoso ter essas menções a comidas brasileiras, a forma diferente de se relacionar com a família, e também ler os diálogos em português. No geral eu gostei muito, e se a autora escrever mais livro dessa família, com certeza lerei. ENGLISH REVIEW: I enjoyed this book much more than the first one, maybe because of the personality of the main characters, which made the book lighter, or it was the fake dating trope, that I personally love. The story begins with Solange preventing Dean's wedding from happening, and after that, there will also be a situation at Dean's job that will make him ask for Solange's help, where they will have to pretend they are dating and living together. I really liked Solange's personality. She is very fun, sarcastic and has a smart mouth. I was expecting something totally different from Dean. I thought he was going to be more of a clown type, given what I'd seen of him in the first book, but it turned out he was more serious (which doesn't mean he was grumpy). I really liked that he always treated Solange very nicely and showed his playful side when he was with her. I suspect Dean is a Capricorn or a Virgo: he doesn't want a relationship based on love, insted he wants one of convenience; he likes everything neat and clean in his own way; and even if he's the checklist guy, he's still funny and amusing. The reading was very light and funny because of these protagonists's personalities. One of the complications in their relationship is that they're both afraid of repeating their mothers' mistakes when it comes to love, even though their way of not repeating those mistakes are different. While Dean prioritizes work, trying to find someone who has similar goals to share his life with, Solange has difficulty making choices, so she is always experimenting the different possibilities when it comes to her professional career and her love life because of her fear of making choices that will ultimately screw her up. I thought it was really cool how this was approached subtly throughout the narrative. The sexual tension of these two is ABSURD and they have several incredible scenes where they show that (aka the karaoke scene and the gala party). I thought the main characters from the first book would appear more since Lina is Solange's cousin and Max is Dean's best friend, but that wasn't the case. Despite this, I liked the introduction of the protagonist's Brazilian family much more in this book than in the first. It seemed much more natural, especially the way Solange interacts with her cousins (I related a lot with it since I'm brazilian). It was very nice to have these mentions of Brazilian foods, the different ways of relating to the family, and also reading the dialogues in Portuguese (even if some of those weren't like we usually speak). Overall I liked it a lot, and if the author writes more books from this family I will definitely read it.
