"Then fire and shadow, forever."

Se no volume anterior eu fiquei aliviada pela descentralização do personagem Rand (que eu considerava chato), neste volume eu fiquei boquiaberta devido ao quanto ele mudou. Quase não o reconheci em diversos momentos quando ele tomava atitudes que eu jamais atribuiria ao Rand dos dois primeiros livros.

"You are changed from when I last saw you. Stronger. Harder."

Ele tá muito foda, mas não tanto quanto meu querido Perrin, que vem sendo meu personagem favorito desde a primeira aparição e que nunca me decepcionou. Felizmente, o autor nunca o deixa de lado por muitos capítulos então tive várias oportunidades de me orgulhar desse personagem maravilhoso.

É claro que uma série tão grande não gira em torno apenas desses personagens, mas este livro sim (além das garotas, cujas existências prefiro ignorar); e o aprofundamento das culturas dos Aiel e dos Tinkers, exploradas respectivamente nos povs de Rand e Perrin, também foi algo que adorei porque eu acho incrível a originalidade desses e de tantos outros povos que fazem parte desse universo gigante.
