I might be one of the older players on the Arizona Vengeance, but I like to think that also makes me one of the wisest. Or at least I used to.

Turns out, I’ve been a bit selfish. I’ve been married to hockey and my team for years, which hasn’t left much time for my actual wife, Ella. Now I’m juggling a separation I never wanted, the pressure of being a single dad to our teenage daughter, and the career I sacrificed it all for.

While my game on the ice might be on fire, the game in my personal life is clearly lacking, as evidenced by the fact I just saw my wife on a date with another man. If I have any hope of saving the family I love, I need to re-prioritize, and fast. So it’s time for me to get back to fundamentals, just like I did when I learned how to play hockey. I’ve never backed down from a challenge, and romancing my wife is a challenge I am very much looking forward to.

Sinceramente embasbacada com quão leve e gostoso esse livro foi. Poderia facilmente ter uma capinha ilustrada padrão e ser mundialmente amado.

O livro já começa com os protagonistas em processo de divórcio. Ele é um jogador de hockey profissional, mas nos últimos anos se deixou levar pelo estilo de vida. Deixou a mulher e a filha em segundo plano e ela pulou fora — as she should.

Ele percebeu a lambança que fez e passa o resto do livro tentando reconquistar ela.

“I’m telling you this as a woman, Lucy, who may one day fall in love and get married. You should be deliriously happy all the time. You should feel loved and noticed all the time. Anything less, and you do exactly as your mom did and kick the offender to the curb.”

Eu simplesmente AMO livros com personagens bem resolvidos que se comunicam e que são inteligentes emocionalmente. Isso aqui foi uma DELÍCIA. É basicamente um livro inteiro de grovel em que ela faz ele se esforçar sem ser uma escrota 😁

Tô completamente apaixonada. Não sei o que dizer mais. Amei eles, amei a filha deles, amei o cachorrinho, amei o final, AMEI TUDO.

É ASSIM QUE SE ESCREVE UM ROMANCE DE SEGUNDAS CHANCES, SENHORAS E SENHORES! Uma salva de palmas para a grande e irreverente Sawyer Bennet. Já tinha lido outros da série e gostei bastante, mas esse foi de uma maturidade sem igual. A m e i.
