Apesar de possuir um dos títulos que considero dos mais bonitos da literatura, o livro não me conquistou tanto quanto ele. Talvez porque a expectativa se tornou alta, rs. O eruditismo torpe das crianças é o ponto forte, mas também afeta a verossimilhança da obra. As descrições das decepções do marinheiro são poucas, porém, encantam quando aparecem. A surpresa maior ficou por conta do tom sombrio da obra. Uma atmosfera nefasta e incomoda se instala logo nas primeiras páginas.
