A primeira surgida de um susto real que a autora passou, conta a história de uma jovem, já em situação delicada, que se vê presa um conjunto de túneis e cavernas subterrâneas.

"Beauty is" segue outra mulher, também vulnerável porém de maneira muito distinta, que encontra conforto e acolhimento no mesmo lugar onde há perversidade e rejeição.

Eu amei esse livro. Senti medo, surpresa, repulsa, admiração, tristeza e carinho por essas personagens extraordinárias. Sally Ann, Martha e Fern (Cora e Addie também) viverão por muito tempo nos meus pensamentos.
