“As if my imagination had been waiting for the question to be asked, I saw a vast deserted city—deserted but alive. I saw the empty streets, the haunted buildings, a gargoyle head lying overturned in the street. I saw smashed statues (of what I didn’t know, but I eventually found out). I saw a huge, sprawling palace with glass towers so high their tips pierced the clouds. Those images released the story I wanted to tell.”

Distante do que estou acostumado do king, com várias das coisas que me incomoda suprimidas ou BEM amenizadas como a habitual enrolação de vários nadas, nesse livro foi quase imperceptível, aqui temos uma escrita que flui muito bem te ambienta com maestria entre universos distintos e ao cruzar a fronteira do fantástico a escrita acompanha e isso é algo muito bom apesar de sutil.

Personagens - 5

Os personagens são convincentes, carismáticos, interessantes e passam realidade. Aqui o narrador insuportável de outros livros do king resolve dar menos as caras e a babaquice habitual dos personagens também, o que nem de longe significa que todo mundo é paz e amor e sim que as personalidades foram melhor trabalhadas..

Histórias - 5

História cativante, dividida em dois grandes arcos, do real ao fantástico, pode causar um pouco de frustração na leitura quando saímos do primeiro para o segundo e a sensação é quase a de uma nova história que está começando, mas ao se acostumar logo a coisa ganha embalo novamente. O ritmo é frenético quase sempre, havendo pouco espaço para respirar, são muitos acontecimentos e as vezes a gente precisa de um tempo para processar o que tá rolando, traz bastante da vibe contos de fadas antigos.
