"go where the love is"

surviving the merge é um livro que eu tava há bastante tempo pra ler, mas esperei o momento certo. ele fala sobre transtorno de múltiplas personalidades que é um assunto que eu nunca me interessei o suficiente pra ler sobre, mas a premissa desse livro é tão original (eu nunca tinha visto um romance com esse tema) que eu soube que tinha que ler em algum momento.

aqui conhecemos justin, damon e blake, mas não, não é um triângulo amoroso.

eu achei muito bem escrita a jornada do justin e do damon, o justin é extremamente determinado e investido no damon e na recuperação dele e não desiste em momento algum, mas o mais importante pra mim foi a jornada do justin em busca de si mesmo.

esse livro é high angst, temos pouquíssimos momentos de calma nos primeiros 80%, os que temos são protagonizados pelo blake. vários gatilhos aqui também como: estupro, violência, abuso infantil, homicídio e etc.

eu tenho MUITO a dizer sobre esse livro, ele é extremamente emocional, os traumas do damon pegam o banco da frente e é difícil ler tudo que ele passou, tudo que ele faz por causa desses traumas, todos os danos psicológicos que causaram a ele, mas tudo isso torna ainda mais satisfatório ver a recuperação dele, ver o esforço que ele faz todos os dias pra ser melhor, pra entregar a melhor versão dele pro justin. eu fiquei muito angustiada em alguns momentos justamente por não saber o que esperar do final.

o romance do justin e do damon não é fácil de ler, é tóxico e agressivo e foge do padrão, mas funciona pra eles por um período, foi sensacional acompanhar eles recomeçando e concertando algo que pra eles não tinha concerto.

para as fãs de angst, dubcon, found family, established couple e second chances.
