It took me some time to finish this book because I was caught up in so many things, omg... But once again, Tanith Lee proved to be the queen of adult fantasy.
I was expecting something like the first book, one tale linked to the next, but even though the tales and legends are connected, this one felt more like a fantasy novel than a collection of stories. That didn’t bother me at all—I loved it!
Simmu will forever be one of my favorite characters. I’ve never seen such a well-crafted character, his abilities and talents are remarkable.
By creating him (and this book), Tanith once again proved that she’s the greatest fantasy author and a woman far ahead of her time.
