Há pouco menos de três anos atrás encontrava-me desnorteadamente apaixonada pela dupla formada por Wrath e Emilia. Contudo, inoportunamente experienciei uma grande decepção literária pessoal ao me deparar com o brilho desse enredo se apagando em uma história cansativa e fatigante no segundo volume. Carregando esse desânimo colossal, optei por suspender esta leitura temporariamente apenas retomando-a nos últimos dias.
Em relação ao anterior, “Kingdom of the Feared” foi uma agradável surpresa em sua grande maioria apesar de delongar para efetivamente prender-me com sua proposta. Maniscalco soube esclarecer seus devidos questionamentos desabrochados ao recorrer desta intrigante história envolvendo os protagonistas e ao mesmo tempo foi capaz de realizar reviravoltas atrevidas sem perder a mão— além de manter diversas incógnitas ao tratar-se dos personagens secundários, nos convencendo a retornar para este universo mais uma vez futuramente.
É inegável que desde o livro anterior esta trilogia havia tomado rédeas mais apelativas ao compararmos ao mistério bruto do primeiro, e apesar de ter preferência pela essência inicial sei que tudo isto é bem relativo. Em suma foi uma trilogia com altos e baixos— e ainda assim marcante o suficiente para encontrar-me decepcionada ao relembrar que finalizei minha jornada por este sombrio universo ao lado de personagens que passei a estimar imensamente… bom, pelo menos por enquanto.
