Um livro que retrata sem querer como funciona a dependência emocional. Não é que a Ada não amasse o Wes ou que ele idealizava ela, mas acredito que os dois não eram pra ser e mesmo assim foram.
A Ada não resolveu a maioria dos problemas dela e o Wes também não. A forma como ele se apaixonou por ela foi tão repentina e intensa que saiu do “amor a primeira vista” e foi direto pra obsessão. Claramente eles não se conheciam o suficiente e a autora até tentou dar um jeito, mas ficou forçado.
O found family foi bem preguiçoso no que se refere a Ada e as meninas, eu senti que foi tudo feito o mais rápido possivel e com menor desenvolvimento possivel. Foi até dolorido ver a Ada forçando aproximação com a Teddy e Emmy… não rolou!
Enfim, o Wes é o próprio Benedict Bridgerton e ele foi encantador no início, eu esperava muito conteúdo do cachorro e dele como irmão e com o Gus, mas não recebi nada disso. Também esperei que a Ada resolvesse suas questoes, provasse que ama o Wes de verdade e fosse mais sensata, mas também não rolou. Acho que o que realmente “rolou” nesse livro foi a ambientação otima, o Gus e Riley aparecendo, o LINDO do Dusty que já virou meu fav e as cenas em que ouvimos mais sobre o pai deles.
