There’s always been something a bit off about Perry Palomino. Though she’s been dealing with a quarter-life crisis and post-college syndrome like any other twenty-something, she’s still not what you would call “ordinary.” For one thing, there’s her past which she likes to pretend never happened, and then there’s the fact that she sees ghosts. Luckily for her, that all comes in handy when she stumbles across Dex Foray, an eccentric producer for an upcoming webcast on ghost hunters. Even though the show’s budget is non-existent and Dex himself is a maddening enigma, Perry is instantly drawn into a world that both threatens her life and seduces her with a sense of importance. Her uncle’s haunted lighthouse provides the perfect catalyst and backdrop for a horrific mystery that unravels the threads of Perry’s fragile sanity and causes her to fall for a man, who, like the most dangerous of ghosts, may not be all that he seems.

One of the best series of 2011

Genre: Horror/Scary-Stuff Series: Experiment In Terror Series - book 1 Have you dream about an heroin who is not too perfect and fit in, or too clumsy/whining/I-don't-belong-anywhere/Poor-me-I'm-not-popular? Do you wish you could find a book which is just so real, with great well thought out characters who think/act/react like a REAL person would? Well, Karina Halle made your dreams come true! Perry Palomino is exactly what you're looking for. She is the most "real" character I've ever read. And the whole series is so real that you don't feel like your reading a paranormal story, you feel like you are reading something that did happend. I've read a bunch of books and let me tell you that I can't remember one book with characters/plot/style like Karina's. It's refreshing, it freaked me out in some parts, and it have many great characters everyone could relate to. Let me tell you something else, this book is not predictable at all!! And the romance has a LOT of development (it takes too much to my liking, lol, but it happens in the best and real way possible so I am resigned). The male main character is SO real (he thinks and acts like a man would, you know, a down-to-earth normal guy would react) that I hate and love him at the same time. hehe. Oh, the there is so much sexual tension between them (Perry and him) that you can feel it in you. And, the books just keep getting better and better. This is a Great Read!5 Stars! Thank you CoffeC. for the recomendation!
