Delia Hopkins trabalha procurando pessoas desaparecidas com sua cachorra, tem uma filha e um lindo noivo, soube aos 6 anos que sua mãe havia falecido num acidente de carro passando a morar com seu pai...só que 28 anos mais tarde a polícia entra na sua casa e prende seu pai por sequestro, ela acaba descobrindo que na verdade sua mãe está viva e ela foi sequestrada pelo próprio pai que não aguentava mais ver a mãe dela sempre embriagada e sem condições de cuidar da própria filha. Mesmo assim pede para o noivo, então advogado defender seu pai. Uma história instigante que desafia nossos pensamentos com um final surpreendente. Eu amei e já li alguns livros da Jodi Picoult e ela nunca me decepciona. Pena que ainda não tenha sido traduzido para o português, vamos aguardar!
