Em From Blood and Ash, acompanhamos Poppy, a escolhida pelos deuses, e Hawke, um soldado bem conhecido e um tanto quanto inapropriado para a protagonista, que se encontram em uma espécie de taberna. Por ser considerada sagrada, Poppy não pode revelar seu rosto, falar com pessoas, e muito menos sair no palácio. Confesso que no início fiquei um pouco desanimada com a leitura, por que a ambientação me lembrou A Rainha Vermelha, mas logo consegui imergir na história.
O livro contém todos os clichês que todas as outras ficções fantásticas, mas a forma como a autora construiu a protagonista me deixou muito intrigada, além de todos os personagens serem muito carismáticos. A grande reviravolta, para mim, foi bem previsível (quem já leu Cassandra Clare e Sarah J Mass não se surpreende com mais nada), mas foi também muito bem trabalhada, especialmente em como o universo foi explicado para o leitor, e claro, a última frase me fez pegar o segundo livro imediatamente. From Blood and Ash é uma ótima fantasia, e tem potencial para agradar a todos que gostam do gênero. Espero que seja traduzido logo.
