Uma origem pouco encantadora da Bruxa Má do Oeste

Conheço bem pouco do musical, mas o pouco que sabia, quando descobri que havia um livro, já criei uma expectativa de ler algo super interessante, estilo o filme Oz Mágico e Poderoso, ou algo encantador, como o livro inspirado no musical Querido Evan Hansen, onde traz mais conteúdo e adapta as músicas do show. Porém em Wicked, o musical foi desenvolvido com base neste livro e não o contrário, então pode esquecer músicas adaptadas, ou cenas mágicas que só uma peça pode proporcionar. Aqui vamos encontrar uma origem da bruxa má do oeste de uma forma séria, desde o seu nascimento até os eventos do clássico Mágico de Oz.

O livro começa com um epílogo intrigante da Elfaba avistando Dorothy e seu bando, mas ao iniciar o primeiro capítulo, a história falha em nos situar no universo de Oz, com sua política e questões religiosas, além do teor sexual e profano, tudo isso durante a infância da Elfaba, que apesar de não ser uma parte longa, pouco acrescenta narrativamente se não fosse algumas características e referências, como sua alergia a água.

Dando um salto temporal, agora estamos na faculdade, onde conhecemos Galinda e acompanhamos os embates dela com Elfaba, recheado de momentos interessantes, onde focamos na exclusão e preconceito que Elfaba sofria, ao mesmo tempo que temos amadurecimento de ambas as personagens ao longo dos anos.

Porém quanto mais caminhamos para o fim, mais volta a ficar desinteressante, seguido por mais conteúdos explícitos, confusos, aleatórios e pouco significativos. Até que no último capítulo tudo começa a ficar mais urgente, onde vemos o auge da loucura da Elfaba, que particularmente não achei nenhuma motivação genuína para tais atos, apenas segui o fluxo, aguardando algo mais impactante ou surpreendente, que infelizmente não aconteceu.
