Tudo começa quando uma solitária senhora se senta ao lado de Annie no trem. A viagem para Paris será longa, e a senhora, por mais inocente e delicada que pareça, possui uma intensa história para contar.

A senhora se chama Valerie, e aos três anos de idade ela foi levada de Paris para Londres para que pudesse sobreviver aos tormentos da 2º Guerra Mundial. Porém, aos 20 anos, Valerie descobre que seu único familiar próximo ainda vive em Paris, seu avô, Vicent Dupont.

Uma leitura rápida e leve, mas que não deixa de retratar os dramas e dificuldades enfrentadas pelos parisienses durante a invasão nazista em Paris. Abusos, ameaças, agressões... esses foram alguns dos problemas; contudo, no meio de tanto caos e tristeza o amor também pode florescer.

Já li alguns livros que apresentam os sofrimentos enfrentados durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, porém, nunca sobre a temática deste livro em específico - que não vou comentar, spoiler, né! -, entretanto, acompanhar a jornada de Valerie, suas angústias, dúvidas e necessidade de conhecer sua história, foi bem interessante.

A leitura é gostosa, porém, nada muito impactante. Um drama leve, perfeito para quem quer conhecer um pouquinho sobre a 2ª Guerra Mundial sem sofrer muito.
