Dois problemas diferentes, dois adolescentes, um amor

“Sou Libby Strou, a Adolescente mais Gorda dos Estados Unidos, talvez a Adolescente Mais Triste do Mundo, sozinha no quarto com seu gato, enquanto, do lado de fora, o resto do mundo continua vivendo.”

De um lado temos Libby, uma garota acima do peso, que anos atrás foi considerada a Adolescente mais Gorda dos Estados Unidos; e teve que ser tirada de casa por um guincho, e parte da casa demolida para que passasse na porta.

Não é algo legal de ser lembrada, e Libby não ficou assim por acaso. Após a morte de sua mãe ela parou de se importar e só ficou comendo, ela engordou tanto que mal saia da cama. Mas depois do incidente que a fez ficar famosa pela gordura, ela emagreceu; e agora vai voltar para a escola.

Do outro lado temos Jack, um garoto extrovertido, descolado; que tem uma doente neurológica chamada prosopagnosia, que faz com que ele não consiga reconhecer rostos, até mesmo de sua própria família.

Contudo, ninguém sabe, porque ele não se sente à vontade para falar sobre o problema. Assim ele namora uma líder de torcida fácil de reconhecer, vai às festas e sorri para todos, porém esse problema vai trazer várias complicações na sua vida.

Este é um romance muito tocante, um livro dramático, que abrange muitos assuntos; e que faz um trabalho incrível em cada um deles.

A autora consegue descrever os sentimentos dos personagens muito bem, ela é uma ótima autora para jovens, seus livros sempre me cativam; e senti que ela cresceu muito mais nesse do que no anterior (Por Lugares Incríveis). Os personagens são bem trabalhados, e eles agem como adolescentes reais, é um toque que deixa tudo bem realista, além de serem cativantes. Com temas fortes, mas uma escrita leve e fluida de ler, Jennifer Niven conseguiu me conquistar de novo!
