O grande momento dessa 1ª parte de O Resgate no Mar é o reencontro de Claire e Jamie; houve quem achasse fraco. Discordo. Mas considero esse volume 3 da série Outlander bastante injustiçado, e não só por isso.
Depois do reencontro, o que gosto mais no livro é o que Diana Gabaldon tentou fazer nele, e que (parece) quase ninguém entendeu. Uma dessas tentativas foi a de fazer desse volume um livro sobre livros; um livro sobre literatura, um "metalivro". O romance está cheio de referências literárias e de citações. Conversas sobre livros; personagens lendo livros (vale a pena ver Jamie lendo "Fanny Hill", um romance erótico da época - século XVIII - é hilário!), personagens lendo livros que depois são sutilmente satirizados dentro da trama de O Resgate...; enfim, uma delícia para aqueles leitores (como eu) que apreciam "metalivros".
Na minha opinião, o que O Resgate no Mar prova com largueza é que Diana Gabaldon nunca poderá ser igualada às autoras de best-seller da hora; ela supera e subverte o gênero. É inteligente demais, talvez, para se manter no agrado do grande público.
