Billy Coleman is a young boy living in the Ozarks of Oklahoma. More than anything he would like two coon hunting hound pups that he could take hunting. His family is poor and his mother wishes more than anything she could send her children to a good school to get an education. But Billy is set on getting those hound pups and he begins doing odd jobs and saves all he makes until he can buy those pups, and names them Old Dan and Little Ann. As the pups grow, Billy trains them with love and nurturing and the two grow to be some of the best coon hunting hounds in the county. Setting off on adventures to chase the “ghost coon†and other hunting competitions, growth and heartwarming brilliance await Billy and his pups as well bravery and sadness.
