A sensação que você sente ao ler esse livro, é a sensação de que você está lendo um diário, de um jeito bem informal que faz você se tornar íntimo do narrador. Tudo acontece muito rápido, assim como a vida dos protagonistas.

Jack Kerouac escreveu esse livro como se fosse na velocidade que Sal e Dean andavam pelas estradas. Tudo muito rápido, vivendo como se todo dia fosse o último dia. Andando por aí sem dinheiro nos bolsos e cansados de uma vida estagnada onde a única coisa que há é o dia após o outro. Todo mundo deveria trazer um pouco desses dois consigo, o desejo do novo, da liberdade e a juventude fervorosa.
