Eu queria MUITO ter gostado deste livro e continuar com essa série, por que adoro sereias e sirenas e achei a idéia que a autora quis explorar aqui e a mitologia que ela irá desenvolver ao longo da série muito interessante. A escrita da autora é simples e fácil de entender, então a leitura flui bem rápido. Mas o ritmo da história é um pouco lento e eu não consegui de forma nenhuma me conectar com as duas protagonistas - Gemma é igual a todas as outras protagonistas de livros YA paranormal desse mesmo período (2010-2013) e Harper é extremamente superprotetora e até mesmo mala. A trama é bem previsível, então não precisei nem terminar de ler pra saber exatamente o que acontece. Por incrível que pareça, pra mim o que funcionou melhor aqui foi o romance - ambos muito naturais e sem pesar muito a mão, ou seja, eles não dominam tanto a história. Darei nova chance pra autora, por que tenho outras séries dela completas no Kindle, e o estilo dela é fácil e rápido de ler, mas talvez não esteja mais tão empolgada pra pegar esses livros por agora.
