Private investigator Isabel Spellman is back on the case and back on the couch—in courtordered therapy after getting a little too close to her previous subject. Lisa Lutz cresceu no sul da Califórnia. Após terminar o ensino médio, frequentou UC Santa Cruz, UC Irvine, University of Leeds, na Inglaterra e San Francisco State University, embora ela ainda não tem um grau de bacharel. Lisa passou a maior parte da década de 1990 pulando de uma série de empregos mal remunerados e estranhos, enquanto escrevia e reescrevia uma comédia mob chamada Plano B.
