When Rachel Kemet and her adopted brother Richard were separated from each other seventeen years ago Rachel, who at the time was only seven years, old felt like she would surely die from the ache it left in her heart. For years Rachel waited for Richard to come for her. However, as more and more time passed she relinquished all hope of that ever happening. Reluctantly, she went on with her life. Now, Rachael is a successful D.A. and about to be married to one of the most prominent men in Tampa in less then a month. Then Rachel receives a call from the Tampa police informing her that they have in custody someone being held on suspicion of murder who claims to be her brother. Coming face to face with Richard after all these years of separation has stirred seemingly forgotten things that Rachael had neatly tucked away in the far corners of her mind. Now, even after so long, those feelings are still there and even deeper than before. Richard doesn’t know how much Rachael remembers about the heritage they share, being part of the half human Amon-Kat race, or the bond they forged those many years ago before she was taken away from him. If he is going to reunite with her, he is going to have to tread lightly. The problem is Richard may not have the luxury of taking it slow. With the full moon approaching he is afraid that his beast will take what it knows is its right before Richard will get the chance.
