Que decepção…

Se você, assim como eu, se interessou em ler o livro depois de assistir o filme ou o musical pra saber mais sobre a história, não cometa o mesmo erro: fique só com o musical.

Comprei esse livro numa livraria de livros usados em inglês, que achei por um acaso numa viagem pra Argentina em 2017, e me encantei pela edição tão bonita (aquela coisa, né? Não julgue um livro pela capa). Tentei lê-lo várias vezes, mas a história nunca engatava e na época eu ainda não tinha tanta prática em ler em inglês, e a escrita aqui é bem mais complexa. Até que vi o filme com Ariana Grande… adorei, achei muito bom, finalmente me deu o empurrão necessário pra desbravar a história. Mas que surpresa foi quando percebi que deveria mesmo era só ter deixado o livro enfeitando a minha estante e servindo de recordação de uma viagem muito boa. Que livro RUIM!!! Horrível!!! Cheio de uma conotação sexual pervertida (me fez perceber que é realmente raro eu gostar de um livro escrito por homem); inúmeros tópicos que são abordados com palavras difíceis, mas que na verdade são tratados bem superficialmente e de maneira tão vaga que muitas vezes nem fica claro qual é ponto que o autor quer fazer… além de vários personagens que são introduzidos e no fim das contas não acrescentam em N A D A na história. E a cereja do bolo: um livro que supostamente deveria nos contextualizar a história da Bruxa Má do Oeste e a razão de ela ter virado tão má, mas que na verdade finaliza sem verdadeiramente nos contar nada sobre ela. Que grande perda de tempo.
