Um guia sobre a adaptação cinematográfica da trilogia O Senhor dos Anéis. O livro começa com uma breve introdução sobre como Peter Jackson se interessou pelos livros e como surgiu a vontade de adaptar a trilogia. O livro também analisa a adaptação, assim como fornece trivias e entrevistas com produtores e atores, resumos dos enredos de cada filme e cada cena é analisada por quatro ângulos diferentes: através do enredo e da ação, os bastidores das filmagens, os erros e reação da audiência.

Após os livros do making of dos filme e série das obras de Jane Austen, estava na hora de algum guia dos filmes de Tolkien. Apesar de não ser o guia oficial, este livro, contando com várias fotos (em preto e branco), é bastante indicado para aqueles em saber mais sobre como tudo começou, além de mostrar um ponto de vista diferente dos bastidores da produção e das filmagens. Muito recomendado.
