Mary Balogh
Mary Balogh nasceu e foi criada no País de Gales. Ainda jovem, se mudou para o Canadá, onde planejava passar dois anos trabalhando como professora. Porém ela se apaixonou, casou e criou raízes definitivas do outro lado do Atlântico. Sempre sonhou ser escritora e tinha certeza de que, no dia em que escrevesse um livro, ele seria ambientado na Inglaterra do Período da Regência. Quando sua filha mais nova tinha 6 anos, Mary finalmente encontrou tempo para se dedicar ao antigo sonho. Depois de três meses escrevendo na mesa da cozinha, a primeira versão de sua obra de estreia estava pronta. Publicada em 1985, deu a Mary o prêmio da Romantic Times de autora revelação na categoria Período da Regência. Em 1988, depois de vinte anos de magistério, ela passou a se dedicar apenas aos livros. Hoje Mary Balogh é presença constante na lista de mais vendidos do The New York Times e vencedora de diversos prêmios literários.
