In 1995, Ben Williams was diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of a large orange and given eighteen months to live. Rather than rely solely on the advice of his physicians, Williams sought out cutting-edge treatments, identified promising alternative therapies, used his statistical expertise to interpret clinical trial results, and ultimately created his own 'drug cocktail' based on the best scientific research available.
