I have mentioned that I dropped asleep unawares and even seemed to be still reflecting on the same subjects. I suddenly dreamt that I picked up the revolver and aimed it straight at my heart - my heart, and not my head; and I had determined beforehand to fire at my head, at my right temple. After aiming at my chest I waited a second or two, and suddenly my candle, my table, and the wall in front of me began moving and heaving. I made haste to pull the trigger.

Breve e Impactante

Depois de muitos anos sem ler Dostoiévski , me aventurei , sem pretensões, nessa short story e digo, que paulada!Fiquei bastante atraída por esse autor durante minha adolescência e li todos os títulos disponíveis na minha pequena biblioteca municipal. Havia me esquecido da profundidade e da marcante maneira que ele estruturava seus personagens, o quão angustiados e sofridos eles eram.
Mesmo sendo curto, com várias camadas, esse título convida à uma profunda reflexão.
Confesso que foi uma volta triunfal à leitura do mestre. Seja muito bem vindo.
