Xenogenesis trata da transformação da humanidade realizada por biotecnologia alienigea, executada por engenheiros genéticos chamados ooloi (sem sexo), com a participação no cruzamento com os seres humanos de outro alienigea da mesma raça porém de espécie diferente chamado Oankali.
