FBD in alliance with YOA and FNBatuta, in 2010 created Filarmónica Joven de Colombia (FJC), the first national youth orchestra in the history of Colombia. Underwritten by Fundación Bolívar Davivienda (FBD), annually FJC selects the top 75 Colombian musicians between the ages of 16 and 24 to train with an international faculty of world class instrumental coaches and participate in international concert tours to represent the talent of Colombia. The orchestra gathers three times annually for concert tours and has performed with world-class soloists including Joshua Bell. In addition to artistic training, Filarmónica Jóven de Colombia provides members support in the way of instrument loans and educational scholarships.
