[Wikipedia] "The Stars, My Destination" is a science fiction novel by Alfred Bester.
Originally serialized in Galaxy magazine in four parts beginning with the October 1956 issue, it first appeared in book form in the United Kingdom as Tiger! Tiger! (1957) – after William Blake's poem "The Tyger", the first verse of which is printed as the first page of the novel – and the book remains widely known under that title in markets where this edition was circulated. A working title for the novel was Hell's My Destination, and it was also associated with the name The Burning Spear -- Literary Awards: Prometheus Hall of Fame Award '-- ' In the 25th century, "jaunting" — personal teleportation — has so upset the social and economic balance that the Inner Planets are at war with the Outer Satellites. Os detalhes é que são interessantes

A primeira coisa que pensei ao começar a ler este livro foi "... mais um livro sobre o já batido tema da teleportação ...". Entretanto eu tive uma boa supresa... O livro é bem estruturado e acaba no meio da trama que se desenrola a grande velocidade, apresentando detalhes sobre como a teleportação mudou o cotidiano das pessoas...

A ausência de fronteiras, a proteção da privacidade do lar, o fim da aviação e outros meios de transporte, como funcionariam as prisões acabam aparecendo ao longo do texto e enriquecem o mesmo.

Só depois fui notar que o livro é de 1955.... ou seja o autor talvez tenha sido um dos pioneiros do tema.
