Apesar de contar a história de uma das bandas principais do circuito independente americano (ainda que anos depois tenha se tornado mega-comercial, no vácuo da popularidade do grunge), o que renderia boa leitura, o livro empaca no texto pesado e lento. O autor busca perceber os fatores e questões da ascensão ao estrelato do grupo, mas esbarra constantemente numa escrita monótona e infelizmente parecida com os antigos livros escolares de história.
