Anita Shreve
Natural do Massachusetts, onde ainda hoje reside, Anita Shreve graduou-se na Tufts University, foi professora e acabou por enveredar pelo jornalismo após uma das suas histórias ter ganho o O. Henry Prize em 1975, escrevendo então artigos para revistas como a Quest, Us e Newsweek. Mais tarde, publicou dois livros de não-ficção a partir de artigos publicados na The New York Times Magazine. Em 1989 abandonou o jornalismo e dedicou-se apenas à literatura, alcançando um grande sucesso internacional – as suas obras venderam já mais de 7 milhões de exemplares em todo o mundo.
