The book ends as it begins, with Astrid, alone and adrift; but with a note of hope: her life is incomparably richer and more directed thanks to her friendship with the Beatles and her love affair with Sutcliffe. This tender story is rendered in lush, romantic black-and-white artwork.

Quando era um quinteto

Stuart Sutcliffe foi o baixista do The Beatles na temporada em que eles tocaram em Hamburgo ( Alemanha) antes de gravarem seu primeiro disco.
O quinteto tocava no porão de um cinema e foi lá, que sua música atraiu Klaus e Astrid, que acabaram por se tornarem grandes amigos da banda. Klaus se tornou baixista e capista de várias bandas, já Astrid tornou-se fotógrafa e ficou noiva de Stuart, que deixou a banda um pouco antes dela estourar. O fim da história de Stuart e Astrid é triste, sobretudo, por eles terem ido ao médico várias vezes sem conseguirem um diagnóstico do que Stuart sofria.
