Já era um pouco familiar com a historia, por que assisti ao filme da disney enquanto crescia. E tendo lido O Homem da Areia do mesmo autor recentemente, não me surpreendi com o tom sombrio da historia. Percebi que, na verdade, ambas as historias são contos voltados para crianças, e incluem uma moral, até para os adultos que supostamente estariam lendo os contos para os filhos; acreditem nas crianças.
