This variation of Jane Austen’s beloved Pride and Prejudice starts with Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet literally running into each other in the mud outside of Darcy’s friend’s house at Netherfield. Immediately Miss Bennet and he start to argue and neither person is willing to back down. Things go from bad to worst and both Elizabeth and Darcy soon come inside covered in mud. Their attraction to one another is gradual and so are the first time feelings they have, for neither have loved before. Elizabeth considers Darcy proud and haughty but her beliefs began to change as she learns more about him. She is fascinated that a man of such a high station might be interested in her. Still, her mother has plans for her to marry her cousin, Mr. Collins. Darcy watches her closely, for he believes that he met her in town years earlier when she was a young girl. Elizabeth also believes she has seen Darcy before. Soon, dark events work to separate Elizabeth and her sister, Jane, from Mr. Darcy and his friend. Emotions run wild as the sisters and their male friends try to discover who is behind the plots to pull the couples apart. There are more arguments ahead and much angst as well as the couples work to salvage their relationships.
