The text was written to attend to item 6 of the Universal Declaration of of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the United Nations on November 20, 1959. Item 6 has the following definition: Every child has a right to the love and understanding of parents and society, in the text the author debates whether love is a right or a happening without pretext. This book was chosen by the National Confederation of Brazilian Bishops (CNBB) for the Fraternity Campaign under the theme Fraternity and the Unemployed and under the motto Out of work? Why? In Brazil, thousands of abandoned children have the same destiny as José, the main character in this book.
