J.R.R. Tolkien (1892-1973), beloved throughout the world as the creator of The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion, was a professor of Anglo-Saxon at Oxford, a fellow of Pembroke College, and a fellow of Merton College until his retirement in 1959. His chief interest was the linguistic aspects of the early English written tradition, but while he studied classic works of the past, he was creating a set of his own.

Caro Tolkien...

Eu sou completamente suspeito para falar de 3 coisas: a Bíblia, o Batman (Miller e Nolan rsrsrs) e o senhor Tolkien.
Como se já não bastasse a competência dos filmes (vide os óscars) têm a reunião detalhista e perfeccionista das obras. Sim, eu sei que as obras vieram antes dos filmes, mas assim como muitos, eu conheci o trabalho do Tolkien pelos cinemas, e foi incrível. Mas mais inacreditável que o "ser incrível" é a perfeição das obras.

Menção honrosa à Editora Harper Collins que conseguiu aprimorar esses detalhes que eu sempre achei consumadamente suficientes, no quesito decoração, encapamento, acabamento e da edição no geral.
