The book reveals new details of every aspect of her life, from her guarded childhood, and her relationships with men and marriages, to her mysterious death. Spoto comments on previous books about Marilyn, and puts to rest questions regarding Monroe's connection with the Kennedys.

    Worth a read

I was just web surfing and saw some short video with some of Marilyn's best moments and I remembered this book (I read it years ago). I must confess that I have never watched Marilyn Monroe's movies, I'm not really a fan or anything, but I know the legend and I had always been curious, so I gave this book a chance and it was worth it. We often forget that celebrities are human beings just as flawed as anyone else, and Marilyn is not an exception. It's fascinating to take a look at her life, everything she went through and suffered so we can understand her motivations and attitudes a little better. Also, it's important to point out that Donald Spoto conducted a thorough investigation, so, we can leave out crazy conspiracy theories related to her life -and death-.
