You'll be taken off Earth and never allowed to return. You'll serve your time at the front. And if you survive, you'll be given a generous homestead stake of your own, on one of our hard-won colony planets.

John Perry is taking that deal. He has only the vaguest idea what to expect. Because the actual fight, light-years from home, is far, far harder than he can imagine-and what he will become is far stranger.

A primeira metade do livro foi um pouco lenta, teve bastante humor e não entregou absolutamente nada. Os diálogos foram muitas vezes engraçados e cheio de humor irônico. Na segunda metade é onde a ação realmente começa e o tom do livro muda significativamente.

A história traz alguns questionamentos morais, o que parece algo comum em histórias entre humanos e alienígenas. Dizimar raças alienígenas que gostam de comer carne humana pode parecer aceitável, mas qual é o limite nessa luta de colonização?

O final foi meio fora do eixo(?). Acho que esperava algo mais elaborado, mas talvez tenha sido simples pelo fato de existirem outros dois livros de continuação.

Gostei da leitura e provavelmente lerei os outros (no futuro).
