I have a billion dollar empire to run that manifests carnage, blood, and money and I love every second of it. The thrill of breaking even the most sniveling of cowards down is exhilarating, but nothing compares to the thrill of breaking the defiance of an errant slave girl. My empire was built on the bare backs of women thanks to my father's past business ventures, but I brought it up to the heights it is now. Nothing ever got in my way, nothing stopped me. If I wanted something, I made it happen, that is until this fucking girl crawled into my life. Strong, defiant, and a mixed martial artist, she was everything I never expected to want in a woman, but want her I did. Breaking her down became an obsession as she'd always somehow pop back up like a fucking weed I couldn't kill. It was addicting and it became harder and harder for me to pretend I didn't love the taste of her fire every time I covered her with my ice. I wanted more and I had a feeling there would be no stopping the train once it left the station because if I had her, I didn't think I'd ever get enough...

Tinha minhas suspeitas de que seria uma bomba, daquelas bem terríveis.

Não tô conseguindo raciocinar sobre minha total impressão do livro.

Devo elevar primeiramente os pontos positivos, como ter gostado da escrita dela, não possui muitas redundâncias. Adorei as características da Jaden, e a forma como a escritora trouxe visibilidade para as vítimas também, coisa que senti falta em livros com abordagem parecida e calhamaços que não trouxeram isso (Designada ao Capo).

As cenas são bem gráficas e nocivas, faz qualquer mulher enjoar durante a leitura e olha que me julgo com um estômago forte.

Fui analisar o gênero que ela definiu para o livro antes de julgar o "romance" mas a Marie deixou explícito que não se trata de um dark romance, e sim, de um thriller erótico sombrio. Logo, o protagonista é um escroto de alto nível e queria muito que ele morresse a qualquer momento.

Pensei inicialmente que sentiria algo agridoce em relação a ele, tendo em vista que compartilhei de um sentimento assim com o Roth, dos livros da Mia Knight pois julguei terem uma vibe parecida, mas no fim são bem distintos. O Roth possui facetas moralmente dúbias, o Dono só é repugnante mesmo.

Outra coisa que me despertou curiosidade é o fato da Jaden ter elementos da vida pessoal da escritora, como a formação em direito e artes maciais (algo assim), e fico pensando que acho massa ela transferir uma parte dos lucros gerados com os livros para as vítimas do tema mas também sentir prazer em escrever uma história tão nauseante, não pelo tema em si, mas pela forma que aborda trabalhando arduamente em um personagem mis0g*no, estrup4d0r e etc...e o colocando de certa forma como par romântico da vítima, enfim...

Não vou ler os próximos livros, leria apenas se fosse sobre a vingança da vítima e ela voltando para o seu namorado, como não é o caso, nextt.
