Auden’s Selected Poems adds twenty poems to the hundred in the original edition, broadening its focus to better reflect the enormous wealth of form, rhetoric, tone, and content in Auden’s work. Wystan Hugh Auden
W. H. Auden é tido como um dos grandes poetas da lingua inglesa. Nasceu em York, Inglaterra, em 1907. Mudou-se para Birmingham na infância e estudou no Christ's Church, em Oxford. Posteriormente erradicou-se nos EUA e se tornou oficialmente cidadão americano em 1949. Suas maiores influências foram os poetas Thomas Hardy, Robert Frost, William Blake e Emily Dickinson.
